Boarding at Sweetwater Farm
At Sweetwater Farm your horse is our first priority. Their safety, health and over all well-being is always paramount. We feed only the best hay and grain. Stalls are cleaned and horses are turned out daily.
Full Board includes: hay, grain, turn out, stall cleaning, space in the tack room for a trunk or a tack locker. We turn out horses in pairs or individually if they perfer not to have a buddy. We do not turn out in herds as they tend to gang up and pick on newcomers every time the pecking order is reshuffled. We are also set up to accomodate the turnout needs of horses that are laid up with injuries, with some turnouts small enough to keep a horse from running to prevent reinjury.
Training board includes everything in full board plus multiple training rides every week. This option could be for a young, green horse who needs to learn the ropes, or for a horse that knows its job, but just needs some rides to keep it tuned up. This is also a great option for riders who have busy work and school schedules that only allow limited time for riding. With training board, when you cannot get to the barn, you know your horse is in good hands and getting the proper exercise. And then when you can make it, your horse is well prepared so you can both enjoy the ride.
